Had Miss Freedom been properly coached, Patriot-Girl is who she would have been. Mindy Stapleton showed increasing strength abilities from the age of 12 and by 18 had caught the eye of Elite Force, but as the Force was going through repeated turmoil, Mindy’s parents decided to keep her from their questionable grasp. Once Equilibrium launched the Guardian Angel program however, and sought out Mindy as a recruit, the path forward was clear. Given a leadership role as ‘Patriot-Girl’, Mindy feels able to express herself. She is a true-believer that power is bestowed on those chosen to lead. She has supreme self-confidence that borders on delusion. Any adversity or even defeat she might encounter is compartmentalised as a temporary injustice in her mind and she moves past it very quickly. She is in total agreement with everything that is explained to her by her Equilibrium masters, in particular Ex-Mayor Killscape, whom she believes to be a great man, if indeed he is a man. Patriot-Girl is one of the naturally strongest superheroines in any organisation, and will go to great lengths to prove it. She isn’t particularly susceptible to mind control, and can resist magic, making her extremely useful. If anything, her weaknesses stem from her character; a belief the world is quite a simple black and white affair, and that she can never truly be in danger.
