Since you are already here, you’ve probably noticed that things have changed a bit.
This post will take you through WHY and WHAT.
WHY?: The old NGC site was getting close to 10 years old, and while still performing its basic function, it was becoming obsolete in the ‘back end’. Close observers might remember over the last 6 months or so we’d have a situation where thumbnails on blog posts would be full size and overlap one another and generally look like a crazy mess. This was probably the most visible example I can give of our problem. New updates simply weren’t covering our old site fully and every month something new would break. I then had it on good authority that if we didn’t completely upgrade by early 2022, the site would more or less completely break down. There was no other option.
Also, as we released more videos on the site, so the dropdown menus expanded to the point of ridiculousness. I’m aware that NGC members and fans have intellects far above average, but even so, you could be forgiven for being confused.
WHAT?: While there are no longer any dropdown menus, we hope that the new system is far easier to navigate overall, with larger thumbnails in each menu for each release to make things a bit clearer about what video page you are going to. As with the previous site, you can still use ‘Character’ pages to navigate to releases via your favourite characters and their releases, so no fundamental change there.
The homepage links to our suite of related sites: NGC Championship, Action Cosplay, Kandy Crisis, and UPL, because none of those sites existed when the previous site launched.
We’ve got links to specific Character pages on the homepage we didn’t have before.
The blog is now ‘Latest News’ with a slightly better shaped thumbnail for seeing things than before. Also, when comments are replied to, it makes a lot more sense who is talking to who, that was an important change.
The Member List is now ‘Free Membership’ because some people thought they’d have to pay something so we’re making it clear that you don’t, and you can sign up at the bottom of any page, and also the middle of the homepage, and of course at the end of any trailer.
That’s about it. I think it should be easy to get used to, I hope so. We had to do it, and I’m pleased with how it turned out. It will still evolve a little over the coming weeks, but this is basically it. Enjoy!

That took me by surprise!
Nice new look. Took a little tour to make sure I could still find everything. Looks good
ngcrisis says:
I hope you can!

Looks great!
And look at us, replying, so futuristic XD
guid84 says:
Yes, everything looks well laid out and easy to find.
The only thing I’ve noticed so far is that the tags under the blog posts aren’t clickable
ngcrisis says:
Ahh, good one I hadn’t noticed that. Something we can fix I think.
ngcrisis says:
This is working now!

The new site design looks great and it’s much easier to find things – definitely worth doing! An update on the character bios would be good next! (Some people are never satisfied, are they!)
ngcrisis says:
Yes you are probably right. I should try and make time to do that.

New page looks sharp with clear guides to all of the important places. Though different, it is easy to navigate once one becomes familiar with it. And, it even looks prettier, too. Good Luck on the successful launch.
ngcrisis says:
Very kind, thank you.

Is there a way to change the red color for replies to a different color as red makes me think that the person that posted something did something wrong. Maybe blue or green ?
Other question: Why is there a website field as I thought it would default to the page that I’m on.
Thanks !
ngcrisis says:
The site colours are grey, black and red basically, so that’s why. I hope you can overlook it.
I’m not really sure what you mean on the second point.
Dr G says:
The old site asked to enter the name and e-mail address when posting. The new site asks for the name, e-mail address and website when posting. Should be ok though as there is an option to save the information in the browser which I am using now 🙂
This is what I see for the new site:
Name *
Email *
Website
Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
ngcrisis says:
Yeah, you don’t need to fill the website field in, it’s just an option I believe.

Not much else I can add that hasn’t already been said, but I love the new layout and design. Thank you for all of your content and transparency over the years especially during this past year will all of the challenges we faced collectively.
-Cheers, Mate!
ngcrisis says:
No problem, thanks for sticking with us!
Nem says:
Is it the intention that the thumbnail images in posts no longer link to larger viewable images?
ngcrisis says:
Nope! Another thing to fix, I’m glad you came!
ngcrisis says:
This is fixed now.
