Another consequential story entry that also has the goods in other ways. I have to admit, Iâve been expecting a showdown between Equilibrium/Killscape and John Roman with the heroines caught in the middle, but itâs the insurgent Seth Evervale whoâs mounting a challenge to the Roman empire, with the ex-mayor co-opted. Seth has Patriot-Girl on his side, a mind-controlled Wonderstrike (love mcâd WS!), and the means to bend more heroines to his will.
Speaking of which, even after two âChoosing Sidesâ videos some folks are having their side chosen for them. This new video has the Roman corps consolidating their forces, trying to add Echo or keep her from their enemies and potentially alienating Lady X in the process. Itâs not surprising that Echo isnât easy to recruit. She may have bad blood with Patriot-Girl, but with Killscape as well, so neither side is particularly appealing. I enjoyed her calling out the tendency of heroine groups to change allegiances. I’m old enough to remember Miss Freedom and Elite Force joining up with John Roman’s Liberty Alliance against Alaric and the Darkhearts. The independent streak of newer heroines is looking pretty good.
Heroines are at a premium now with Captain Liberty and Ubiquity dead and others departed in one way or another. Supreme Sentinel seems likely to be the next heroine targeted. Sheâs come into conflict with both Acolyte and Seth, but has a bond with Lady X (and with Wonderstrike). Supernova hasnât appeared in the story yet. Carmen Black V is potentially out there, not likely to line up with Killscape. I wish Majesty were still around for this, or half a dozen others recently departed. Maybe there are other heroines (or goddesses) waiting in the wings?
Anyway, Iâm a bit surprised that more coercion wasnât brought to bear on Lady X by Acolyte and his masters, but I guess the options are limited. After her performance here, they might not be so confident in her allegiance. I expect the next question is who will catch up with the others first, Acolyte or Seth? My guess is Seth goes after Sentinel again, but weâll find out soon enough.
Echo and Lady X are terrific as usual. Echo is putting together a strong case for my MVP this year.

Glad you enjoyed it, a couple of people have mentioned Lady X needing more coercion, but I have to move the story on, she has had a very difficult couple of videos and also would see Patriot-Girl having so much power as a major problem. I think another Lady X coercion video would hold things up a bit too much.

I wasn’t thinking of a whole video devoted to getting Lady X in line, just a threat or something to make sure she stays loyal. I bet if Killscape were calling the shots he would (and he would need to) but it’s John Roman in charge and he’d probably conclude that threatening her would undermine the persuasive case that PG and Seth are more dangerous. Their options really are limited at least in that regard.
I’m overthinking it of course.
