Dr Mabuse says:
The “Seesaw” format is terrific if you ask me, especially with a heroine like Patriot-Girl who’s so much fun to watch when she’s ascendant. In fact, I could’ve done with a bit more of her abusing the Masked Man, although it’s a tribute to how strong and skilled she is that she handled him so quickly and decisively.
I can’t write enough about how superb PG is (fortunately others have), the character is conceived and written so well, the format is terrific, there are several wonderful KOs, so much is great. The one thing I’d say is missing is something I’ve written about before, which is that heroines don’t tend to say much when they’re losing. Obviously they’re not talking smack when they’re getting beat, but I’d like to hear heroines express their astonishment, panic, desperation, or whatever they’re feeling when the villain is getting the better of them. We hear some of it from time to time, but there’s more emphasis on heroines expressing pain than other types of distress. PG is particularly good at expressing how crestfallen she is when she’s losing with her expressions; you can almost see the pleading for mercy in her eyes. I think this skill is an important factor for some of my favorite performers.
Again, I love this video so I hate to devote space to a complaint, but it’s something I thought about.
