Carmen Black receives a visit from an old enemy with a bad proposition. Of course she wants to turn him down, but Ex-Mayor Killscape has the perfect concoction of pain and coercion at his disposal. Carmen Black either joins his 'Guardians' program, or she will be crushed!
Overview
Carmen Black is stranded on Earth and trying to quietly build up her powers using the Superior Black Staff she acquired at the expense of Captain Liberty. As she struggles to understand the weapon, she is visited by an old enemy; Ex-Mayor Killscape, the instigator of the Lockdown v Unity City battles on her home planet. He has a proposition that sounds a lot like ‘join me or die’, Carmen tries a third way; ‘attack’. The two tear strips off each other, but with her limited understanding of the Black Staff, she is vulnerable and Killscape scores the KO. When she wakes, she finds she has been creepily dressed as a superheroine fit to join his ‘Guardians’ program at Equilibrium. Of course she fights back, and things get much worse.
