SEESAW: Dispensable – 1st Previews

Out on Friday for Members, Sunday on this website… This is our first official ‘SEESAW’ format video. This is where one side does well to begin with to an extreme degree, and then the tables are turned very violently. A bit like a Squash, but with a strong reason to want to see it, rather than the heroine walking in and immediately in trouble she can’t recover from. In this one, Dr Progress has heard a Fail-Safe Sister is on Earth, and plans to incapacitate her and sell her back to Unity City…. He hasn’t entirely thought it through.

  • Awesome!
Love that you’ve made it an official format. I love the idea.
And when it’s the incredible rising starlet, Carmen Black, going up against my all-time favourite NGC baddie… yes, I’m excited.

The fight looks great, and I’m loving that captured Solaris picture.

  • After her amazing photo/video set as Starshot last week this video is a must. Also very glad Seesaw is going to be an ongoing thing. I can enjoy a squash now and then but love it when a fight is hard-fought and intense.

  • We’re using AI now? You’re so talented, with an amazing cast too… You’re above using AI. Especially in an industry where human art creation matters.

    • Who is ‘we’? It is a 5-10 second set of pictures to tell a specific part of the story. I’ve used artists over the years, it was generally really expensive and they couldn’t keep up with the schedule. We produce weekly, AI gives us the option to make small additions to tell a story better in ways I simply cannot bank on a person creating from scratch in time, not one I’ve ever met at least, irrespective of cost. It was NEVER an option to pay someone to draw this, it just simply wouldn’t be in the video. No one lost their job or missed an opportunity here.

In 17 years I have employed over 100 people, a few of them have admitted to me that I kept them afloat just long enough to get a break in the industry that they needed, otherwise they would have moved on to working in a bar and missing out on what they wanted to do. I have backed human creativity, the best way I can do that is by staying in business.

      • As someone who has had some of my drawings posted here in the past, I can confirm that it would have taken me faaaaar longer than needed to do this, especially if there’s a set of them, and I have no issues with you using AI in this way.

        • I’d like to make it clear, there was zero possibility that I would have commissioned artwork to be drawn for this. It simply wouldn’t exist. Margins are too tight to spend that kind of money for 5 seconds in the video that are unlikely to produce a single extra sale. It was a fun thing I wanted to do to enhance the video, and I do what I want.
